The author, a Welsh antiquary and curate affectionately known as "Celtic Davies", was involved with the recovery and re-invention of Druidic tradition and advanced some curious ideas with regard to the connection between the Hebrew and Welsh languages.Celtic Researches" is the best known and most important in Davies' canon (DNB V, 584).
