Kellogg (1811-1881) came from a family of engravers who established one of the most successful print publishing businesses in the country. Kellogg and his brothers were the principal partners in the firm from the 1840s through the 1860s. During this period the Kelloggs specialized increasingly in the kind of popular prints being simultaneously manufactured in New York by Currier & Ives.
