The 7th being: "Every man justly chargeable with intemperate habits, disobedience of orders, unfaithfulness in performance of duties, or with quarrelsome and immoral habits, wherby he would be deemed a bad citizen, may be discharged at the option of the Company." The Quarry, adjacenrt to the Connecticut River was first opened by the Brainard family in 1762.
