These are biographical sketches Christian Native American men who lived on Martha's Vineyard. The text is taken directly from chapters one and two of the Mayhew's 1727 book: Indian Converts. Mayhew was the minister to the Indians for the London based Society for the Propagation of the Gospel in New England.
