An extensive treatise on the manufacture of indigo dies. Tipped to the end paper is a clipping of biographical information about the author. During the Napoleonic domination, Giobert was named university professor of rural economy and, in 1802, of chemistry and mineralogy by the University of Turin. In 1814, as a result of the fall of Napoleon and the restoration of the Savoia, he was made the university chair, and university professor of chemistry and a member of the Council of the Mines.
