A posthumously published novel of Ireland, Crane definitely wrote the first 24 chapters, and maybe chapter 25, before his untimely death. His friend Canadian-born author Robert Barr claimed to have written chapters 25-33 and is generally so credited, though there are some who believe the book was actually finished by another.
