Kessel photographed wildebeests migrating in the Serengheti, Charles de Gaulle praying as he was campaigning for reelection in 1948, Greek partisans fighting the German occupation, pomp and ceremony in the Vatican and elsewhere, and teams of struggling men dragging boats up the Yangtze River. A record of an amazing career.
