Part of this young woman's poetry. Klauczel, who died, at 24, of typhoid in Prague in 1858. She doesn't seem to be mentioned in the standard biographical reference books, and this seems to be her only monographic publication. Some of these poems were originally published in almanacs and literary journals, together with some of her novels and sketches. The remainder were found in manuscript after her death and are published here for the first time. Several other works--three tragedies, three comedies and an unfinished novel remain unpublsihed.
