Elliott was the daughter of Julia Ward Howe, and was a writer and lecturer. This book is a memoir about growing up in Boston, her marriage to an artitst, travels, life in Italy. She was one of the founding members of the Progressive Party, and was secretary of the Newport, RI, Art Association for 30 years.
