CASE OF THE BARONESS DE VANDENESSE

London: by the Philanthropic Society, 1805? Broadside, folio, early fold and evidence of having been bound. A very good copy. Item #22509

This is an appeal for donations to fund a law suit. The Baroness, while imprisoned in Paris, in 1793, by the Revolutionary Party, inherited considerable estates in Devon, York and Middlesex. On her release she discovered that a person unrelated to the family had, with no legal standing, taken possession of the estates, hence her need of money to fund a law suit.
